Walking Safari

For those wishing for an intensely personal experience in the Okavango Delta, a walking safari offers a unique way of exploring the delta.

Delight in an incredible, guided walking safari. The Bushmen, also known as the San people, are one of the continents oldest inhabitants, with ancestral roots that trace back over 30 000 years. A traditional Bushman leads this exceptional half-day adventure, where you are introduced to various survivalist techniques employed by the San Bushmen for centuries. The guided walk will be led by either a qualified guide or skilled tracker.

This is an authentic cultural experience, using nature as a guide throughout the journey. You will have the opportunity to follow a Bushman as they interpret many natural phenomena along the walk. These findings often lead to a food source, be it game, wild vegetables, fruits, or even insects.

Walking Safari
Supporting A Greener Africa Through Sustainable Tourism

The San Bushmen are the original inhabitants of the wilderness areas of Botswana and they share an almost spiritual relationship with the earth. One of the many attractions of a safari in the Okavango Delta is the opportunity to spend time on foot with these fascinating individuals.

The San share their intimate knowledge with guests, showing how to survive in the harsh environment of the Kalahari Desert by indicating which plants are safe to eat and which contain water. This walking safari is unique in Africa and many people travel to the Kalahari regions of Botswana just to participate in this experience.
